Here are some game projects I’ve worked in the past. Either alone or with friends. This is mostly game jams, and some of the links are most likely dead, but I’m keeping this as an archive. HTML5 versions of the games hosted locally, as well as binaries, are probably still working, but the Flash versions probably won’t load.
GIANT ENEMY LABS
I started Giant Enemy Labs in 2013, as an Independent Game Development Studio with a clear goal of creating fun experiences for players of all ages.
In 2015 I published a game on Steam; ASDAD: All-Stars Dungeons and Diamonds.
Joining forces with a friend, we worked on a game called Bonds, based on a Jam game we did together (check later in this list!). We managed to put together a Demo (that you can download) and play-test it at an event. It was fun, but we couldn’t continue with its development.
Giant Enemy Labs is currently defunct, but if I ever make more games under that name you will find them in our itch.io page.
JAM: Lost in Translation at Space!
A sort of voice-controlled puzzle game using the HTML5 Speech recognition API and Phaser. Made for LD39 in collaboration with @elmismopancho, @mspawa and @ignius. Theme was “Running out of power”.
JAM: R-ADIUS
This is a sort of resource management/strategy game that puts the player in the shoes of the Boss AI in an old-school Shoot’em Up. Made for LD33; theme was “You are the monster”. This is my first succesful “solo” Jam game, developed with my Monkey X-based engine SAME.
JAM: 1337 Beat Agent
A rhythm game I developed with my ConflictiveLabs pals for the LD32 game development jam. This is our first LD game developed with Unity and the second LD game that features music made by me.
JAM: Bond
A puzzle game that my friend Felipe and I developed for LD30 with the theme “Connected Worlds”. This would later become our (still WIP) game Bonds! This game was developed with my own engine; SAME, written in Monkey X.
JAM: Bug Buster
A frantic shoot ’em up with a time-bending twist! This game was developed for the LD27 Jam in collaboration with my friend Francisco and features music by Nicolas Kriman and art by David and a talented friend.
JAM: Kill Ville
A game of suspense and noir-action (kinda). Made for the LD25 Jam by our game-dev team ConflictiveLabs. We received a bit of extra help from David (who drew the awesome title screen) and Nicolas (who helped us with the music). This game also received quite a positive response from players!.
JAM: Psychiatric Evaluation
A sort of RPG that plays on the theme of evolution. I developed this game together with my ConflictiveLabs buddies (Francisco and Felipe) for the LD24 Jam. This game got 5th Place overall in the Jam (out of the 2523429348235 games that are usually submitted to LD) and placed satisfactory on most categories. It also won 3rd place on Kongregate’s LD contest. We used a tune I composed like thousand years ago, when I started writing MIDIs using ABC notation and DOS command line tools, so I guess this can be considered the first LD entry that uses music made by me.
JAM: Drop of Life
This game is basically a single player (Player vs AI) turn-based strategy game based on the “mechanics” of Conway’s Game of Life. It was made for LD23 in collaboration with Felipe, which is actually a kick-ass pixel artist.
JAM: Broken Heart
In this game you must avoid obstacles WHILE keeping your character alive (by making her heart beat at a healthy rate). It’s a sort of experiment we (Felipe, Luis -a long-time friend- and myself) made for the Global Game Jam 2013.
JAM: Other LudumDare Games
Here are some other games I’ve done for the LD Compo/Jam. These are on their new site. You can read the journal entries to check the story behind these.
